Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how File Upload App ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our website or use our file-collection service.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information — name, email address, password, and billing details when you sign up.
- Configuration — your branded link settings, connected destinations (Slack, Google Drive, Dropbox), and any logos or instructions you upload.
- Files — files uploaded by you or by people you share an upload link with. These are routed to the destination you configured and are otherwise processed only as needed to deliver the service.
- Support communications — anything you send us via email, chat, or contact form.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — pages visited, links clicked, referring URL, device and browser type, approximate location derived from IP address.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see our Cookie Policy for details.
2. How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the service.
- To process uploads and route files to your connected destinations.
- To send transactional emails (receipts, notifications, security alerts).
- To communicate updates, respond to support requests, and deliver marketing communications (you can opt out at any time).
- To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Advertising and analytics
We use third-party services to measure ad performance and understand how visitors use our site. These services may set cookies or use similar technologies and may collect information about your visits to our site and other sites over time.
- LinkedIn Insight Tag — we use the LinkedIn Insight Tag to measure ad campaign performance, build audiences, and enable conversion tracking. LinkedIn may collect cookies, IP address, timestamp, and event data. See LinkedIn's Privacy Policy.
- Web analytics — we use privacy-respecting web analytics to understand aggregate site usage.
You can opt out of LinkedIn advertising by adjusting your LinkedIn ad settings, or by using your browser's "Do Not Track" or similar controls.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:
- Destinations you configure — files and metadata are sent to the Slack workspace, Google Drive folder, or Dropbox account you connect.
- Service providers — hosting, storage, payments, email delivery, analytics, and customer support providers acting on our behalf under written agreements.
- Legal and safety — when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of users or the public.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
5. Data retention
We retain account information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for legal and operational purposes. Uploaded files are retained according to the retention settings on each link and your plan. You may delete your account or specific files at any time.
6. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. International transfers
We may process and store information in countries other than the one in which it was collected. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for cross-border transfers.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to object to certain uses. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].
If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to request deletion.
9. Children
Our service is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the site before the changes take effect.
